    If that is the case here, then try installing/reinstalling the Perl
    module Scalar-List-Utils available from
    http://cpan.yahoo.com/authors/id/G/GB/GBARR/Scalar-List-Utils-1.19.tar.gz,
    and then possibly upgrading or reinstalling the other Perl modules
    required by amavisd-new. A recent upgrade to CentOS 5.2 on one of our
    email servers caused similar problems (amavisd-new would not start).
    Fortunately this was not a production server, but unfortunately I failed
    to take notes on the exact steps required to get amavsid-new running
    again after the system upgrade.
