    Note that many large providers have a local "reputation" base. so make
    sure to get things "right" before trying anything (including testing).

    Of course, I am assuming you only send mail to "confirmed" addresses
    (the user replied that he wants your mail, and you kept the evidence).
    If users subscribe by web and you send them a confirmation email, better
    make this message neutral (it should not be confused with an advertizing
    message). This also applies to "invite a friend..." and "send to a
    friend..." applications.
