    Please verify with "postconf -n" that the settings do appear in your config.

    Well, WHAT do you see? Remember, I can only give advice on what you post here.

    Please also check, that your version of postfix was compiled with sasl
    support.

    What does
      ldd `postconf daemon_directory| cut -d" " -f3`/smtpd
    say?
