I am beginning to see the light. I don't use dovecot and therefore
I've been looking exclusively at the SASL_README (without looking at
the dovecot directly) to see what needed doing. Perhaps the SASL_README
should be adjusted to explicitly mention that dovecot < 1 is not supported.
