they dont bother. i doubt if they even care.
a spammer's strategy is spew, spew, spew! the more, the better - just
spew it out and some will get through. any other strategy is more work
for (at best) only a marginal increase in delivery rate.
the spam zombie networks ignore the reject reason, AFAICT. they often
try spamming you from a different location (watch your logs, you'll
see spam attempts for the same addresses come in bursts - first from
one location, then the exact same sequence of recipient addresses from
a different location)....but they'll do that regardless of the reject
reason your MTA gives.
