Hi,
We are currently in the process (almost finished) of setting up postfix
(we're moving from sendmail) but there is one major issue left: we have
a lot of internal aliases that we send mail to and also occasionally cc
people on an alias (or have aliases with common members).
E.g.:
alias1: user1 user2
alias2: user2 user3
postfix tries to deliver to user2 twice (using postfix 2.1.5-9 from
Debian/sarge)
These FAQs have some bad news:
http://www.postfix.org/faq.html#duplicate
http://www.seaglass.com/postfix/faq.html#aldbl
But the configuration docs are a little more positive:
http://www.postfix.org/postconf.5.html#enable_original_recipient
http://www.postfix.org/postconf.5.html#duplicate_filter_limit
The documentation is however not really clear which values are needed to
eliminate duplicate delivery. I have tried several combinations (also of
local_destination_recipient_limit) but haven't got it working yet.
Should I add an extra call to cleanup before delivery (cleanup should
eliminate duplicate envelope recipient addresses) or is this done. Does
anyone have a working configuation that filters out duplicates? Would
upgrading to postfix 2.2.4 help?
I'm not very familiar with postfix yet, but I'm learning so bear with
me. If I should RTFM, please point me in the right direction. Thanks for
all responses.
