because smtpd is not the only Postfix daemon that uses this parameter.
Replacing it only in one daemon does not have the expected result.
Moreover, what daemons use a particular parameter may actually
change from one release to the next.

There is really no guarantee what parameter is implemented where,
beyond the examples in documentation that was supplied with your
Postfix version.
