    Hi again,
Sorry, my thoughts ran ahead of me. I do need to fix this, so
I am guessing that the log indicated that launchd had started Postfix
    - is this correct?
What results could be the consequence of leaving Postfix
running as it currently is on my system?
I have only recently upgraded my OS from OSX 10.3.9 to 10.4
(then to 10.4.1) I now see that there is no startup item for Postfix,
so I need to re-add that & also an entry for the mailserver into
    /etc/hostconfig
I will add the startup item & hostconfig entry & see what
    happens from there.
