This is working now, by the way, the problem was in amavisd-new
actually. I had the internal exchange server set as my forward_method.
I took the mx records for the postfix server out of it's own named
configuration.
I made sure I added the domains explicitly in amavisd.conf under the
@local_domains_acl as well and I think that contributed to the success.
Thanks guys for your help, I understand the lull was that it was passed
on to an amaivsd-new / dns issue as opposed to a postfix configuration
issue.

Subject: Re: local mail not being handled correctly..
By the way, I just bought The Book of Postfix and am looking thru it
now. I just found the line about unchrooting pipe, local and virtual.
I decided to unchroot everything in master.cf.
Now when I try, I get the "recipient address rejected: domain not found"
log entry. Copying and pasting on this handheld is too much of a pain..
If you need that log entry let me know.
I also was thinking about putting "-v" after smtpd in master.cf..
Necessary?
Thanks
