Strange ... that message belongs to a patch I wrote a long time ago
for Postfix-2.0. I recall fixing a bug related to the same symptom
during mid-2003, but I think that there's still a subtle race condition
somewhere.

Yes, with newer versions you can use the native anvil daemon for source
concurrency controls. No need to patch the source anymore :-).
