Hi.

I am new to postfix and I ran into some trouble trying to set it up.
I compiled postfix from source without problems, but when trying to lauch it
I got the following error.

postfix: warning: My hostname xp2600c is not a fully qualified name - set
myhostname or mydomain in /etc/postfix/main.cf
postfix/postfix-script: warning: My hostname xp2600c is not a fully
qualified name - set myhostname or mydomain in /etc/postfix/main.cf

I resolv hostnames with the bind9 dns server and that always worked fine.

ping xp2600c
PING xp2600c.efteurofacade.com (10.4.8.27): 56 data bytes
64 bytes from 10.4.8.27: icmp_seq=0 ttl=64 time=0.096 ms
64 bytes from 10.4.8.27: icmp_seq=1 ttl=64 time=0.090 ms

finally I tried adding "mydomain = efteurofacade.com" and this made postfix
start.
(ps -A gives me a "master", "pickup" and "qmgr" process.)

but when I try to send mail though this server (using kontact) it "hangs".
it doesn't get send.

my main.cf file looks like this:

mydomain = efteurofacade.com
mynetworks = 127.0.0.0/8 10.4.8.0/24
smtpd_recipient_restrictions = permit_mynetworks

any ideas on how to solve this?
or atleast get some debug information. (couldn't find log files or debug
option)

thanks

Mark Hannessen
