No LDAP library mentioned:

#ldd /usr/lib/libsasl2.so.2
libdl.so.2 => /lib/libdl.so.2 (0x40017000)
libresolv.so.2 => /lib/libresolv.so.2 (0x4001a000)
libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0x4002b000)
libgcc_s.so.1 => /lib/libgcc_s.so.1 (0x40148000)
/lib/ld-linux.so.2 => /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0x80000000)

Here are the last few lines from the gdb output:

Reading symbols from /lib/libnss_compat.so.2...done.
Loaded symbols for /lib/libnss_compat.so.2
Reading symbols from /lib/libnss_files.so.2...done.
Loaded symbols for /lib/libnss_files.so.2
0x40135a59 in wait4 () from /lib/libc.so.6
(gdb) Hangup detected on fd 0
error detected on stdin
Detaching from program: /usr/libexec/postfix/smtpd, process 2107

Like I said, I'm just a SysAdmin and a neophyte C++ programmer, so I
don't really know how to use a debugger or how to properly parse the
output.

danke für Ihre ganze Hilfe, mein Freund
