ok i am running a solaris box with postfix. all is good.

i added postgrey 1.11

in /etc/inet.d/postgrey
/usr/local/bin/postgrey -d -v --inet=10023

in /etc/main.cf
smtpd_recipient_restrictions =
    reject_invalid_hostname,
    reject_non_fqdn_hostname,
    reject_non_fqdn_sender,
    reject_non_fqdn_recipient,
    reject_unknown_sender_domain,
    reject_unknown_recipient_domain,
    permit_mynetworks,
    check_client_access dbm:/etc/postfix/pop-before-smtp,
    reject_unauth_destination
check_policy_service = inet:127.0.0.1:10023,

now here is the kicker...

the daemon is running, if i telnet to it it logs stuff to /var/log/syslog
postfix does not seem to use it.

but when postfix is receiving email its NOT talking to the postgrey daemon
otherwise i would see postgrey logging in /var/log/syslog

what am i doing wrong. i have most of it working.

thanks
kevin
