corrupt email

Hello -
I upgraded from postfix 2.0.16 to 2.0.18.

I postfix stop'd, deinstalled postfix 2.0.16, installed postfix 2.0.18, ran postsuper -s, then postfix start.

Everything is fine, but I am curious why some emails were moved to the corrupt folder. What can cause, or what are some symptoms of corrupt emails?
