You will understand Postfix better when you start thinking in terms of the
higher level Postfix features, such as canonical rewriting, virtual
rewriting, alias expansion, transport lookup, ... rather than LDAP, MySQL,
PGSQL, Berkeley DB, ... which are used as table drivers in the
implementation of the above features.
There are no LDAP based Postfix features, there are only table based
features, and LDAP is but one of the possible tables.
