Sorry for my ignorance, but new to email server systems and having a hard
time with this.

Postconf -n output:

command_directory = /usr/local/sbin

debug_peer_level = 2
home_mailbox = Maildir/
inet_interfaces = 10.0.0.12
mail_owner = postfix
mailq_path = /usr/local/bin/mailq
manpage_directory = /usr/local/man
mydestination = $myhostname, localhost.$mydomain
mydomain = tigeri.com
myhostname = mail.tigeri.com
myorigin = $mydomain
queue_directory = /usr/local/virtual
readme_directory = no
sample_directory = /usr/local/etc/postfix
sendmail_path = /usr/local/sbin/sendmail
setgid_group = maildrop
unknown_local_recipient_reject_code = 450
virtual_alias_maps =
mysql:/usr/local/etc/postfix/mysql_virtual_alias_maps.cf
virtual_gid_maps = static:1002
virtual_mailbox_base = /usr/local/virtual
virtual_mailbox_domains =

virtual_mailbox_limit = 51200000
virtual_mailbox_maps =
mysql:/usr/local/etc/postfix/mysql_virtual_mailbox_maps.cf
virtual_minimum_uid = 1002
virtual_transport = virtual
virtual_uid_maps = static:1002

If there is anything important missing or wrong here please advise me

I have 10.0.0.12 mail.tigeri.com. In my /etc/hosts file, is that a right
thing to do ?

Thank you or the list members for any help with this issue.

Because there is a default value for alias_maps that you need to clear?
Otherwise, provide "postconf -n" output and relevant log entries (like the
list introduction mail told you to do).
