Bad luck ;)

Probably nothing

But when i try to send emails with sylpheed or another email client, it fails. Which external program must i declare for sylpheed in order to send my emails (i have tried /usr/sbin sendmail -q, it does not work) ?

Your machine needs to be configured for an Internet IP number, network
mask and Domain Name Server (DNS server) which your Internet Service
Provider will have given you. He will probably also have given you the
address of your pop3 server. Unless you have arranged with your provider
for your machine to act as a mail server, with its own domain name, you
will never receive mail from the Internet to your machine. Other people
fetch their mail from their provider's pop3 server with a program called
Fetchmail.

With the IP number 127.0.0.1 that you say that you put in /etc/hosts,
you will never get onto the Internet - it has to be the number and the
name your provider gave you - probably expecting you to use Windows.

You cannot just choose a name for your host, your provider will tell you
what name to use.

Alternatively you have to configure your machine to use DHCP
automatically to get an IP number from your provider - which is far more
likely, given his name.

The DNS server has to be put into /etc/resolv.conf.

Get that done and come back. Don't ask here how to do it, sorry but this
list is for Postfix questions. And don't forget it's the weekend.

Do not CC me or your mail will probably be rejected.
I don't like this, either. Blame it on Swen and a slow
Internet connection.
