SASL means Authentication (more-or-less), that's why.

It's there, if the "postfix-doc" package is installed.
Both of those files are there :
$ dlocate sample-auth.cf SASL_README.gz
postfix-doc: /usr/share/doc/postfix/examples/sample-auth.cf.gz
postfix-doc: /usr/share/doc/postfix/SASL_README.gz
