What does the proxy_interfaces configuration parameter do?

I have postfix installed on slackware Linux on a SoHo network which
connects to the internet via an ISDN router.

The postfix install process has added the line:-
    proxy_interfaces = 158.152.25.160
to my main.cf file. This was correct at the time I installed postfix
as 158.152.25.160 is isbd.demon.co.uk which is my host IP address with
Demon Internet.

However I connect via various different ISPs at different times so,
for much of the time, I'm not 158.152.25.160/isbd.demon.co.uk. What
can I do about this? Is this parameter important and should it change
to reflect the actual IP address of my network (as seen from the
internet)? Since most of the ISPs I use provide a dynamic IP address
by DHCP this would need a means to change the proxy_interfaces
parameter every time I connect.
