I work for a small web hosting provider that wants to add an anti-virus
solution for our customers.
Currently we are using Postfix running as a gateway on a Linux box to block
spam. It then forwards mail to the respective mail server for our
customer's domain. I am looking at adding Amavis to the Postfix server but
am a little overwhelmed by the number of different Anti-Virus scanners out
there. Due to the size of our shop we really don't have the time to
evaluate all the products out there.
We have the following requirements and would appreciate any suggestions:
1. Low cost - we are looking at adding this as a "free" or "low-cost"
feature for our customers.
2. Able to handle multiple domains - we really cannot afford something with
a $200 per domain cost.
3. Automatic update of definitions - we don't have a lot of time to be baby
sit this.
4. Possibly the ability to scan per domain. Right now customer's email does
not get scanned for spam unless they request it (we add it to the Postfix
server and modify the DNS zone file). We would like to be able to offer the
options of Anti-Virus scanning or Anti-Spam scanning or both if possible
using one Linux Box.
We really don't need something that will scan hard drives or files shares
or executables as they are launched.
Thanks in advance.
Roger
