At first, I thought it was the second postfix that was dropping the
connection, but after looking at it some more, I agree with you. If
amavis was working, it should have logged a "Delivered" message and passed
the email on.

Amavisd-new has different logging levels. Go into the file, bump up the
logging and see if that helps uncover the problem or at least the section
where it might be happening. Since amavisd-new controls razor,
spamassassin and a virus checker of your choice, it could be one of those
programs that might be acting up.
