Hello friends,
I'm working in one of the ISP. Now we had started growing and as a network & system administrator company had assigned me responcibilities for taking care of all web and mail servers.
Till date we have only 1 servers only but only one server is not enough to handle all the users emails and ftp accounts. And specifically right now we have cobalt server on which no m0re than 1000 users will able to handle it.
We dont want to purchase cobalt any more.
We want to use Redhat linux as i'm comfortable for it.
Query :
Right now we have only one server for handling email services for our dialup users. It is running sendmail. I dont want to use sendmail any further. I want to use postfix only.
The current server is also using /etc/passwd for maintaining users database. Now onwards i also dont want to use that. I would like to use openldap or something else which can also be integrate with proftpd.
so now can you suggest me in what way i have to proceed. ( I have only one week to finsh this)
My requirement :
1. To use postfix as smtp gateway for all my additional mail servers. one of them is sendmail and i'm willing to add one more with postfix on Redhat 7.2.
2. I'm also willing to add one server which can function as POP & IMAP gateway or the same serever which is functioning as smtp gateway as pop & imap gateway.
