Catchall questions

I'm trying to implement catchall mailboxes for some virtual domains on my
server, and what I'm finding doesn't make sense to me. I've looked through
all the documentation on the postfix site and searched through the mailing
lists. Here's what I want:

For each virtual domain, I want mail addresses that aren't virtual users
(I'm using mysql) or aliases to go to the catch all virtual address. For
example, in a new simple scheme I'm working with, I have a virtual users:

.

and an alias of

 pointing to ;

I want addresses like:

 delivered to virtual user .

Based on what I've read, in Virtual maps I need to enter

Name Maps to:
sub.domain.com anything
@sub.domain.com

But when I do this, ALL mail sent to sub.domain.com ends up in
, even user1 & user2.

There seems to be indication that I need to add entries in virtual maps for
each virtual user, mapped to itself; as in:

Name Maps to:
sub.domain.com anything

@sub.domain.com

Is this true?? It just seems so redundant. Is there another way?

TIA

Rob
