I'm running postfix 1.1.8 and for the most part everything works just
as desired.
However, there have been a couple email destinations, most notably
yahoo, that frequently chokes on email from my server with the
following response (I've x'd out the body of his text but kept the
format and length):

The only thing I saw in the FAQ regarding timeouts involved either
path mtu (not the case here I am fairly sure) or a PIX firewall, which
I think unlikely since 1.1.8 has a work around in place and i don't
see the banner described for identifying a PIX when connecting to
mx2.mail.yahoo.com.
Here is the logfile entry corresponding to the failure:
May 30 22:08:07 www postfix/smtp[1061]: 7C92792DC: to=<>, relay=mx2.mail.yahoo.com[64.157.4.82], delay=123, status=bounced (host mx2.mail.yahoo.com[64.157.4.82] said: 552 Put ,E=\r\n at the end of Mether, Mtcp, or Msmtp in sendmail.cf if you are using Solaris 2.5 (fixed in 2.5.1). I cannot accept messages with stray newlines. Many SMTP servers will time out waiting for \r\n.\r\n.)
This error occurs after the number of timeouts/retries is exhausted.
I see lots and lots of deferred transmits for this message.
Here is my postconf -n:

If anyone has a suggestion on what could be the problem I'd appreciate
the tip. Thanks,
/cky
