installing postfix in a separate folder

Hi,

I've just installed postfix in a separate directory : /opt/mail/postfix
my configuration files are kept in /opt/mail/postfix/etc/postfix

my first problem is that I have to add '-c
/opt/mail/postfix/etc/postfix' when I use post command (postfix,
postconf, ....)
The biggest problem comes when I want to user sendmail ou mailq.... :

# which mailq
/usr/bin/mailq

 ls -l /usr/bin/mailq
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 27 Mar 27 10:17 /usr/bin/mailq
-> /opt/mail/postfix/bin/mailq

# mailq
mailq: fatal: open /etc/postfix/main.cf: No such file or directory

# mailq -C /opt/mail/postfix/etc/postfix
mailq: fatal: open /etc/postfix/main.cf: No such file or directory

.....
Ok, I have to user postqueue -c

wouldn't it be a (good ?) idea to have postfix searching for
configuration files where specified at install time ?
I mean, if I install in /opt/mail/postfix as postfix root, why does it
still look in /etc/postfix ?

indeed, it would be more secure too...
any clue ?

Cheers,

Prune
