Hmmm, I'm stumped by this...after an upgrade from 20020228 to 1.1.4, I
have this problem whenever I send mail on the mail server:
Mar 1 11:40:46 fenris postfix/smtpd[17142]: > localhost[127.0.0.1]: 421
Error: timeout exceeded
If I'm mailing from the Internet, mail arrives and is put in the recipient's
mailbox just fine. If I send mail (using pine on the mail server itself),
either locally or to an internet address, I receive the error.
This absolutely worked before the upgrade and I have not modified
my_networks (which includes 127.0.0.1/32), mydestination, inet_interfaces,
etc.
inet_interfaces = all
mydestination = $myhostname localhost.$mydomain $mydomain localhost
I tried turning off all UCE restrictions and reloading postfix but this
didn't make any difference.
Pointers? I can't find anything regarding this in the release notes or
docs.
