I never saw such reports from postfix. I use it for several years heavily,
sure there was numerous DNS issues of one sort or another, and other
issues as well. But postfix always either bounces the message once, OR
delivers it. Additionally, it may generate ONE warning message to sender
if delay_warning_time is set and delivery takes longer time.

This is NOT how postfix works, or how it is designed to work. Something is
strange with your configuration. Check and post relevant logfile entries
(grep for D6DDA1D318 in maillog for example). Something is screwed up on
your side. Also, try `postfix check'.
