It works really well too. I've got postfix creating a
mailbox tree 4 or 5 levels deep:

's maildir is stored in:

/mnt/mail/d/o/domain.com/joe/

This works really well, and keeps the number of entries per
direcotry manageable. Postfix creates everything after
/mnt/mail (which is an nfs share)
