You can either call maildrop as a command, or as a transport/delivery
agent. Either way should work.

You'll need to see if maildrop is using your db. Maildrop has it's own
configuration system (for delivery and filtering), unrelated to postfix.

This log does not show you using maildrop. "postfix/virtual" is the
VDA that ships with postfix, and it does not use "mailbox_command" or
anything else that "postfix/local" does, IIRC.
