NO! No trimming! We already bend over backwards by allowing a literal
IP address!!!!
*I* don't allow it. Nobody who legitimately sends mail here uses the
HELO [...] syntax, or claims to be my domain, or any of that ... so I simply
model normal and expected behavior by dropping
/^\[/ 550 Illegal host syntax
/^avian\.org$/ 550 You can't be serious
/\.avian\.org$/ 550 You can't be serious
and a few other select gems into my helo_acl regexp file. Bounces spammers
right and left, it does, and I thank Wietse for that nice configurable
capability every time I see such rejects in the log.
