I think the original writer thinks this because the Cyrus
stores emails in files to and has index files for folders.

You don't need to resend them. If I knowledge is accurate there're
scripts to convert from mbox to Cyrus mail format. They are on
www.oreilly.com. They presented a book called managing IMAP.
