Hi everyone, I've been on this list for about 3 minutes or so now and have
my first question for you guys/girls.
I am trying to get postfix to act as a secondary or backup mailserver for
another domain in case their mailserver goes down for any reason. Right
now what seems to be happening is the mail is skipping over the down
server and making it to the secondary, but not delivering it to the main
server upon it's revival.
Here is a snip from my zone file:
myserver.mydomain.net. IN A 123.456.789.0
myserver.mydomain.net. IN MX 5 myserver.mydomain.net.
myserver.mydomain.net IN MX 10 mail.mydomain.net.
mail.mydomain.net is an A record above in the zone file.
Other than that my postfix config does not have myserver.mydomain.net.
referenced in it at all so that it will not try to deliver email to anyone
on this system.
Is there something I am just missing here? Not waiting long enough for
delivery to myserver? Or did I do something completely backwards? Any help
will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
