No, in fact you do gain something very valuable -- you prevent fraud.
Most casual users don't bother to look for the "may be forged" comments
stuck in the "received:" headers so they don't know they may have been
tricked about the origins of a message.
Honest spammers are better than dishonest spammers.
(of course we also have to close all the open relays before we can
really successfully force them to be honest about where they're hosting
their activities....)
