I know that the build can be done differently. Wietse has spent a lot
of time writing a pretty bullet proof install script. I'm trying to
use it. If it is easy to separate out the root specific needs from
the non-root specific needs then this may help convince me to change
the way I do the install and thus the requirement to build the rpm as
root.

I haven't really had time to look at this and see if it requires
little changes to my current spec file. If the root build requirement
can be changed with little impact on my spec file then I'm certainly
willing to make the change.
