In your /etc/imapd.conf, something like:
# Configuration directory
configdirectory: /var/spool/cyrus/config
The "db" subdirectory under the configdirectory holds some transaction log
type stuff. I've had trouble in the past with changing versions unless I
clean out that directory first.
