    Cyrus IMAP uses LMTP daemon to accept messages. This is intended for
    other components, like MTAs (Sendmail, PostFix, Exim,...) to deliver
    mail to Cyrus.

    For your purpose, there is a utility within Cyrus distribution, called
    "deliver" which is a front end to LMTP and compatible with the old
    "deliver" program from Cyrus IMAP 1.x
