Replace IMAP with different version

I am trying to get Cyrus IMAP to work on my SuSE system. I think I have a version conflict. I currently have Cyrus IMAP 2.1.14
installed and I want to install Cyrus IMAP 2.1.10. There is not a rule for the make uninstall command. What is the best way to
uninstall Cyrus IMAP? Is it safe to simply do a make install of version 10 over version 14?
