Try using truss (or strace) and gdb on the pop3d process connected to
the client.
We don't experience this.

Using Cyrus V./ 1.6.24:
When using POP3 client to retrieve mails bigger than 2 MB, the POP server
stops responding.
When using IMAP there is no problem.
There is no entries in the log files indicating problems.
Any hints would be appreciated.
