    So you have an environment where some user passwords are in sasldb and
    others are in, say /etc/shadow (or other saslauthd "repository")? You
    might want to take a look at sasl's migration features then, it can
    migrate plain text passwords to shared mechanisms if I recall correctly.

    But don't take my word for it, I'm also slowly learning this stuff about
    auxprop methods.
