Could you be more specific, under heavy load saslauthd starts rejecting
connects (visible somewhere in the logs)? If that's the case your hitting the
listen backlog, which is pretty shallow in 2.1.13.

Or is saslauthd and imapd just hanging, doing visibly nothing?

Any error info you could feed would also be helpful.
