I'm a new BSD user, most of my experience is with linux, though I'm
dieing to move away from solaris.
I failed to realize there would be a difference between (make)s, and I
appreciate your input.
After I installed gmake, it seemed to fix the make clean.
Perhaps this could be the rest of my problems....worth a shot.
Thank you very much for your help.

is BSD make or GNU make first in your path?
I'm not sure if the Makefiles have been verified for operation with BSD
