Hello, Kir,
It seems there is no problem on our machine with packed structures. I
compiled the test program you sent me and it runs OK. There is a problem
with dynamically loaded module. Can you tell me, are there any limitations
on tool version? I am using autoconf 2.57 and gcc compuler 2.95.3.

The problem is aspseek is using highly-packed structures here and there,
and get the bytes from those structures ("structures" here means not C
struct, but some in-memory region, for example in ULONG (4 bytes) we can
have weight as a first byte, and some other variable in the next 3
bytes). So ASPseek using type conversion here and where, sometimes
leading to unaligned access.
To get the full picture, look into changes I have made in
'aspseek_solaris' CVS branch. For example:
cvs -z9 diff -u -r v_1_2_9 -r aspseek_solaris > sol.diff
(I have forked aspseek_solaris off 1.2.9pre, not 1.2.9, therefore some
changes in diff you will get are irrelevant).
