Re: [aseek-devel] Ranking problems

Hi,

I'm having pretty much the same problems. It's not the ranking I think, it's more like
ASPSeek being really spam sensitive concerning META and TITLE tags.

For example the site 'www.veilinggids.nl' scores very high on a lot of searches
but only because the site's a really big spammer. Most of the keywords they
use in meta and title are not relevant to the actual page content.

So people will think it's a crappy result.

Even though ASPseek has (i think) a max limit of 255 char for keywords and a max title
length, it still gets found. What happens with meta-tags which are extremely long? Do they
get discarded, do they end up in the body? At least when I do a search and this site turns
up, most often the keywords which the excerpt shows are not in the first 255 characters of
the meta tags.
( I would have checked the source, but i'm in a kind of hurry. deadlines to meet).

Grz
Sander.
