Hi Everyone,
I'm currently working on a patch that will make ASPSeek use XML (with
XSL as the template format), and I'm curious if anyone else besides me
is interested in this. If this goes over well I'm planning on making
the configuration files XML-based and creating a CGI to configure and
manage the ASPSeek installation, as well as creating an XML-RPC/SOAP
interface to the system.
Is anyone else interested in this? Are the ASPSeek people interested in
merging this into the main tree?
I really think that by ASPSeek adopting XML as its output format (with
the ability to render the results with XSL instead of a proprietary
template format) is a good idea. I'm working on a
proposal/specifications document simultaneously that outlines all the
advantages and potential disadvantages, as well as documenting the XML
schema.
The main reason I am doing this is so that I can expose the search
functionality of JabberSearch to the many other Jabber web sites I work
on.
I'm about half-way done with getting the XML output working, as I'm
learning C++ in the process :) If anyone wants to help, just let me
know.
Justin
